The following prizes are awarded and are judged as follows:

BACKCARE MEDAL:

(AWARDED A MEDAL AND A CERTIFICATE)

Chosen by the Executive Committee from the top 10 scoring papers submitted the

previous year.

PRESIDENT’S AWARD:

(AWARDED A CHEQUE FOR £150 AND A CERTIFICATE)

Judged by the past, present and future Presidents and awarded for the best podium presentation.

​

The winner of the President's award in a non Britspine year will be put forward for selection to the

EuSSAB special papers session within the Eurospine programme.

Eurospine registration is included as will be travel and an overnight stay to enable the winner to present if selected.

SECRETARY’S AWARD:

(AWARDED A CHEQUE FOR £100 AND A CERTIFICATE)

Judged by the past, present and future Secretaries and awarded for the best special

poster presentation.

LOCAL ORGANISER’S AWARD:

(AWARDED A CHEQUE FOR £100 AND A CERTIFICATE)

Judged by the local organisers and awarded for the best contribution to the theme of

the meeting (podium, special poster or poster).

NEW INVESTIGATOR’S AWARD:

(SPONSORED BY DISCS - AWARDED A CHEQUE FOR £100 AND A CERTIFICATE)

Judged by the DISCS representative and the past, present and future Presidents and

awarded for the best presentation in the New Investigator Session
